Club dues for 2012 are now due.  Membership Lists must also be submitted in order for clubs to be considered to be in good standing. Dues can be paid online and membership lists can be submitted by the club secretary by via FAX (330-680-4633) or the club secretary can email the list to Verna Dobbins.  Check here to see if your clubs is in good standing.  If you believe your club is in good standing and it's not listed, contact Verna Dobbins to get it straightened out. Some clubs believe that since they have a show licensed in 2012, their club is current.  Not necessarily so.  To license a show in 2012 the club dues must have been paid prior to licensing the show; however, the club's membership list may be outdated.  If your club did not submit a new membership list either in December, 2011, or this month, it is not considered to be in good standing. In order for a club to be eligible to vote for CFA Officers and Regional Director this Spring, dues and membership lists must be received in the CFA Central Office by February 1, 2012.

2012 Elections

This year CFA clubs vote for CFA Officers and Regional Director for a two-year term, June 2012 through June 2014.  The deadline for declaring is March 15, 2012.  Declarations have already been received for some of these positions.  Check online to see who has already declared.

Our region is part of the Cat Fanciers' Association.

CFA Gulf Shore Region 3 is part of the Cat Fanciers' Association, the world's largest registry of pedigreed cats, and is known as Region 3. It encompasses the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas (South of the 38th parallel), Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee (West of the Tennessee River), Texas and Wyoming.

As you can see, Region 3 covers a very large area, and it is not unusual for exhibitors to drive 8 to 12 hours to attend cat shows in our region. At the present time there are 64 CFA Cat Clubs in the Gulf Shore Region. Chances are one of these clubs is having a show near you on any given weekend. If you are interested in attending a CFA Cat Show in Region 3, check our Show Schedule for show locations and dates. We also have a Region 3 E-Mail list to discuss issues affecting the Gulf Shore Region.

Meet Our Regional Director

Region 3 welcomes Ann Caell as our new Regional Director.

Ann Caill, Region 3 Director

• I bring 22 years of business acumen to the GSR and want to run the region as a business, not a club. With CFA’s mission statement as my guide, I’m working for you and CFA.
• I have no personal agenda. I will be listening and communicating with clubs and individuals within the region to understand your needs. I will draw on my business experience and skills to represent you fairly on the CFA Board.
• I would like to find opportunities to grow the number of show producing clubs and offer the experience of producing a great regional awards show and banquet to area clubs.

Please come back often to see what's happening in Region 3. Feel free to email the Region 3 Webmaster any suggestions you might have that you think would make our site better!
