2007 ANNUAL LOCATION

The site for the 2007 Annual Meeting in the Gulf Shore Region will be presented at this year's annual meeting in Scottsdale AZ. Many locations have been considered but not all locations will work for us due to high hotel cost, unavailability of dates or other suitability issues. Following are the two cities that are being seriously considered for the 2007 Annual Meeting: Austin (TX) and Denver (CO). Please rank the cities in order of preference. Return your vote to me at gooch@ok.azalea.net no later then ********. A big thank you to the individuals from the region who visited hotels in these cities as well as other cities at Allene Tartaglia's request and provided reports and input.

AUSTIN
HOTELS: Hyatt Regency and Renaissance.
RATES: $135 single/double/triple/quad, confirmed for 2007.
GENERAL COMMENTS: As the state capitol, downtown Austin includes areas such as Sixth Street and the Warehouse District, both with several blocks of nightclubs with live music, restaurants and shops. Party boats/cruises are available from Town Lake. The LBJ Presidential Library is located in Austin and the town of Fredericksburg is less then an hour drive and has many things to offer for a day trip.

DENVER
HOTELS: Westin, Doubletree and Renaissance
RATES: $126 confirmed for 2007.
GENERAL COMMENTS: Shopping and restaurants are nearby. The mile high city of Denver offers spectacular views from all locations and many scenic areas such as Golden Gate State Park, Estes Park, Peak-to-Peak Highway. There is also the Denver City Park, Denver Zoo, and Natural History Museum.

TRANSPORTATION: Major airlines fly into both cities. Currently airfares for the two cities are about the same but that is dependent on the part of the country from which you are flying and it's impossible to determine what airfares will be in 2007.
