New Email address:

In the event that you tried to contact me during the past few weeks, I apologize for not being available.  We have moved Bill’s office into our home and I am working a full eight-hour day in his office.  I think that things are slowly getting back to normal!

Because of this move, we now have a satellite internet provider.  My email address is changing to stormy@beecreek.net.  The old address is no longer active.

My fax number will continue to be: 830.249.6372

My home phone number will remain 830.816.2114.

My cell number is:  210.844.4965

Regional Awards Show and Banquet

The Regional Awards Show and Banquet is coming up fast.  Time sure flies when you are having fun.

For those cats that are receiving a Regional Award, and you all know who you are by this time, NOW is the time to get your photographs sent to Jan Rogers.

Jan needs a color photograph of your award winning Championship Cat, Kitten and/or Premiership Cat as well as your Distinguished Merit cats. These are the photos that are used on the Award Plaques.

Your photo(s) need to be in Jan’s hands no later than May 14, 2003!!!  If you think that your cat has a possibility of a Regional win, please send a photo of your kitty so you can avoid getting a plaque with a nice CFA logo on it instead of your cat’s picture.  Hard copy photos are best for the production of the plaque. Photos with the best contrast make the best plaque.

All photos will be returned with the plaque at the awards banquet.

 Please send your photos to:

Jan Rogers PO Box 1830 Stephenville, TX 76401

You can also ups/fedx, etc. to 105 Logan Lane for overnight delivery

REMEMBER THE DEADLINE IS MAY 14.

Information for the
Regional Awards Program,
video presentation and book.

1.    If you are a Regional Winner, DM, Best of Breed/division (1, 2, & 3 place) or Best or Second Best of Color Class, I need a color picture of your cat.

2.    The picture should be approximately 3.5" X 5" but this is not critical.  Horizontal works best but I can use a Vertical.  I will crop the image to show the most of the cat and reduce the background.  I will do this electronically and will not cut up your picture.

3.    Please put your cat's full name on the back of the picture.  Include the expected award or placement.

4.    If you want your pictures back, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.  I will also bring pictures to the awards dinner and show for you to pick up there.

5.    I want real pictures, not “home prints” of digital pictures.  Professionally printed digitals are fine.  The reason for this is that scanned photos sometimes give unusual patterns and untrue colors.

6.    If you just have to send a digital image at the last minute, I'll do the best I can with it.  It will need to be a .jpg format image.  Use the name of the cat as the file name.

7.    If you are the Best Cat in Championship, Premiership or Kitten, please send several pictures for the Best of the Best presentation.

Regional Awards Banquet Photographer:

Larry Johnson will be the photographer at the Regional Awards Banquet this year. He will be available to take pictures of you with your award as soon as your award is received.  He will have a booth set up.  Award recipients may make the choice to have their photos taken.

Clerking School at the Regional Awards Show

There will be a clerking school held in conjunction with the Regional Awards Show.  The school will be held on May 30, 2003 from 10:00 am to 6 pm.  The school will be held in the Central Texas Room/Ammons G. Carter Exhibits Bldg, 3400 Burnet-Tandy, Ft. Worth TX. 76107.

The cost for this course is $30.00.  This includes all materials and a meal.  The instructor is Marsha Ammons.  Ft. Worth Cat Club is the sponsor of this school.  The class is limited to 20 students.  Deadline for signup is May 21, 2003.

You can register online at the CFA website.  Go to exhibitors’ corner/clerking schools.

Color Awards

We are looking for Clubs and/or individuals that are interested in sponsoring color recognition awards at the Region 3 Annual Awards Banquet.  These awards will be for specific breeds.

We are asking for donations of $25.00 from clubs or individuals interested in sponsoring a specific breed award.  The names of each sponsor will be listed in the awards catalog.

Please send the donation to me and I will keep a list of the contributors for the catalog.

Thanks,
Betty Haden

Rabies Vaccination Change

 Texas Department of Health

NEWS RELEASE

February 27, 2003

Rabies Vaccination Frequency Changed

The Texas Board of Health today approved rules that will permit dogs and cats to be vaccinated against rabies every three years instead of annually.

Under the new requirements, dogs and cats should be vaccinated at 4 months of age, receive a booster vaccination 12 months later and every three years thereafter.  Pet owners and veterinarians may choose more frequent vaccinations.

TDH officials stressed that the change from annual to triennial does not lessen the importance of having pets vaccinated against rabies.
