SHOW RULE CHANGES OCTOBER 2001
- 12.03c. Any show held on a weekend different from the previous
year, must have the
written permission of the Regional Director for the region in for
which the show is planning
to be held. Written permission must accompany the show license
application.
Rationale: shows must be protected from another show infringing on
their traditional dates.
- 28.15 Transfers. A judge may, with the consent of the exhibitor,
transfer to another color
class any Kitten, Championship, or Premiership entry wrongfully
entered, providing that the correct color class has not yet been
judged. If a cat is being judged as a color different from
the one it was entered, the judge shall indicate the "judged as" color
in the judge's book. A judge may transfer to AOV and Kitten or open
entry that, in his opinion, does not confirm to the accepted show
standard for its breed as described in show rule 1.18b. A transfer
from
one breed to another breed is not permitted (see paragraph 2.04)
Rationale: Many times a cat has been confirmed as a color that it
is not. The exhibitor should have the opportunity to start over
immediately should the problem be pointed out at a show by an astute
judge that catches the color and/or pattern problem. To merely work
the cat wrong color is a waste of the exhibitors money and time and
should have been discovered by the judges at the show were the cat
competed as an open.
Article XV
OLD TEXT :A minimum of twelve (12) -- judging cages must be
provided. When a top fifteen (15) final is required, fifteen (15)
cages must be provided, whenever space is available. It IS Strongly
recommended that (16) or more judging cages be provided in each ring
at all shows, whenever possible.
NEW TEXT :A minimum of twelve (12) judging cages must be provided.
It is recommended that sixteen (16) or more judging cages are provided
in each ring.
Rationale - With clubs having more difficulty finding show halls,
reasonably priced or not, this REQUIREMENT is simply not needed. Under
the current rule, who is going to give up vendor space of this? Being
able to get all 15 kittens up at once is not going to reduce judging
time for show. Doing kitten finals in two parts causes fewer
conflicts, not more. Since only some of the kittens are up at once,
each part of the final ties up fewer kittens for a shorter period of
time. The extra cages help more for a shorter period of time. The
extra cages help more for the class judging than finals. This needs to
be kept OPTIONAL, NOT A REQUIREMENT, THAT HURTS CLUBS and opens doors
for protest.
ARTICLE XV 15.08 h
- Cages in judging rings must be placed on tables or other solid
support, which, are at least as deep and wide as the cage bases.
Collapsible trestles are not acceptable.
Rationale. Some clubs are using tables that are only 18 inches deep
to support cage bases that are 24 inches deep. The overhang combined
with the weight of large breed cats has repeatedly caused the judging
cages to fall off the tables. Endangering the cats.
ARTICLE XIII 13.03
- The position of entry clerk must not be a person who shares
address, phone number, or any other accessibility of information with
any of the contracted judges.
Rationale - in regard to show rule 27.06. Which states A judge must
not have access to a catalog prior to the completion of all judging
duties and the transfer of a completed set of judges color class
sheets and finals sheet to the master clerk. The perceived ability of
the entry clerk and judge sharing the same household gives undeniable
access to catalog information prior to the completion of judging
responsibilities of that judge. This show rule needs to be adopted to
support rule 27.06.
Show rule 12.07a 2
- A minimum 12 judging cages per ring is required where a total
SPECIALTY ring will reside and 16 judging cages required for rings
that will be judged as an Allbreed.
Rationale - Show Rule 12.07 (a)(2) requires 16 cages in all rings.
Out here we occasionally see single-specialty rings. The request was
to modify this rule to apply to Allbreed and Double-Specialty rings
use fewer cages. We have a few halls that barely hold 225, and it
would make it easier to use Single-Specialty judges if the rings
didn't need so many cages.
SHOW RULE 1.04.01
- "Cats transferred to Championship or Premiership after the first
day of a two day show will
be counted as a Champion or Premier in all rings.
Rationale - Clarification.
- SHOW RULE 1.17.01 and Maritime Provinces of Canada.
Rationale: Housekeeping - this rule was not updated when Show Rule
#1.19 changed.
SHOW RULE 2.11
- After the specified hour on the advertised date for the closing
of entries, or after the
advertised limit of entries has been reached.
Rationale - Housekeeping. Clubs are often specifying a closing time
of noon or 4pm or 6pm on their closing date on their show fliers. This
show rule currently mandates that they stay open until midnight and
needs changing.
